This is my time!!

Everyone has a favorite sport they like to play. For some they may like to play football, or softball. Others may like indoor and outdoor track. I am one of those track and field people. I love doing track, especially when I'm at the meets. When I’m in my spikes I feel like a different person. I go from the quiet Aryn to I’m going to beat your butt Aryn.
Before I came to Bucksport I was at Orland Consolidated School (OCS). We didn’t have very many sports teams. We had a small track and field team, a moderate sized basketball team, we may have had a soccer, but I really can’t remember. I always wanted to try and be on one of those teams, but I was afraid that I wasn’t good enough. I wasn’t good a sports anyhow.
One day in gym class some of my friends and teachers noticed that I was a good runner and thought that I should try and be on the track team. Me being my shy self I said no. Every time someone would pass me in the hall and tell me that I should do track, and would keep saying no. NO, NO NO. I was never really a sports player. I thought that I wasn’t good enough.
Then I came to Bucksport High School. I was a freshman, and I had a new chapter in my life to fill. I wanted to do something different, something that wasn’t me. I thought back to when everyone at my old school wanted me to do track. So, I kept on telling myself that I would do outdoor track. I’m going to do track, I’m going to do track, I’m going to do track. Then when the time came for me to sign up, I froze. After staring at the sign-up sheet, I didn’t sign up.
Then a year later (my sophomore year) one of my new friends wanted me to join the track team. At first I said no, but after them being on my back about it, I finally did it. I was on the track team.

It’s my third year being on the track team, and I have never regretted it. It’s so amazing. It opens up so many things. When I’m on the track all my feelings and worries go away. The only thing I am worried about is WINNING!!!!

DUDE!! You Can't Say That

Some people think that they can just say things that pop in there head, and not think that it won't offend anyone. Well, think again. I'm gonna list some things that you should never say to anyone, and tell me what you think, okay?

1. You can't do it
    - what the other person hears: you don't have what it takes to do it, no matter how hard you try; So why do yo even try?
why would you try to set that person up for failure? I can see that you might not want that person to have delusions or see them get hurt, but how can you judge what's good for someone? Who knows, maybe failure is the best path to get stronger.
2. Your wrong!
    - what the other person hears: You're stupid, you're nothing, you're worthless.
No one wants to be called stupid, let alone worthless. You should try to say something else like; my understanding is... try to work things out with that person.
3. As I just said before
    - what the other person hears: You don't listen to me, you're making me repeat myself, you're so annoying and dumb
This is a conversion killer. If someone asks you a question and you point out that you have already answered it, then you killing their willingness to learn.
4. Good luck!
    - what the other person hears: There's nothing you can do that will make you succeed, only luck will.
It's bad luck to say good luck, maybe you should try saying: break a leg
5. I told you so!
    - what the other person hears: you didn't listen to me, that's all your fault, I'm better than you.
When that person needs your help more than ever, don't keep tabs on who's right and who's wrong. if it were a competition, the one keeping the tabs would be the one losing.

Top 6 Ways To Be Positive

Top 6 Ways To Be Positive

1. You should always keep your mind open to good things and close it to the bad. If your mind is full of lots of negativity you should try and distance yourself from that negativity. You could get rid of it by writing down something that makes you happy, or something that your grateful for.
2. Go easy on yourself. There might be times where you think your life really sucks, or you might be blaming things on yourself that you didn't do. Trying to get rid of self- criticism is an important way to be positive. If you get rid of that little critic inside your head, you will be more apt to be positive. One way you could get rid of self criticism is to practice self-love. If your one of those people who puts themselves down this would be a great way to be positive.
3. Figure out life's meaning. Some people believe life has a meaning, and those people would believe that tend to be more positive and happy. So maybe you should try to find what life means to you. The most meaningful part of my life is knowing that i have friends and family that care about me as much as i care about them.
4. Share your happy thoughts. If you say something positive to someone else   it will make you feel happy. For instance, instead of engaging negative conversations try to replace those negative thoughts with positive ones like, "That looks good on you", or "hope you have a good day."
5.Make a journal. Writing a journal can help you wash those stubborn negative stains away. Don't worry if your the only one that does that, I sometimes write in a journal. Writing helps me let out any extra steam that I need to get out. Just imagine your journal being a safe. what every negative things you write down will get locked away forever.
6.Let it go. Some things are hard to forget, for example losing a loved one like a family member or a boyfriend/girlfriend that you really liked. everyone has something that that are trying to forget or let go. It's not easy, trust me I know what that feels like. You try your best and let those negative things go but you can't. Well, let me tell you something. If you keep those negative thoughts stewing up in that pot of yours, things are going to get worse. Just keep trying to let go of those things. eventually things will get a lot better. It won't get better at the snap of your fingers, but with time those negative thoughts or memories will turn into positive ones.
